Sarah is a Ph.D. candidate researching active shooters using an ecological systems model. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Secondary Education from the University of Notre Dame. She also has Master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers University-Camden in Applied Psychology and Counseling and Criminal Justice, respectively. In her career as a teacher and school counselor, she has worked extensively with at-risk and special needs students. As a part-time lecturer at Rutgers’ Camden and Newark campuses, she has taught courses in Research Methods, Victimology, Youth and School Violence, Juvenile Gangs, and Mass Violence.
