Last Dollar Campaign

Rutgers School of Criminal Justice Launches Emergency Micro-Scholarship to Support Students Amid Economic Uncertainty

In a time of rising inflation, shrinking public assistance, and growing financial strain on families, the Rutgers School of Criminal Justice is proud to launch a Last Dollar Micro-Scholarship to help ensure that no student is forced to pause or abandon their education due to financial hardship.

This scholarship is a lifeline for undergraduate students who are struggling to cover Board of Governors–approved tuition and mandatory fees, despite exhausting all other sources of aid. It reflects our deep commitment to equity, access, and the belief that financial barriers should never stand in the way of academic success.

🔑 Key Details:

  • Maximum Award: $1,500 per student per academic year
  • Purpose: To provide urgent financial relief for students facing economic hardship
  • Eligibility: Undergraduate students must be declared majors within the School of Criminal Justice during the semester the scholarship is awarded

As economic pressures mount and public support systems face uncertainty, this initiative offers a crucial safety net for our students—many of whom are first-generation college-goers, working part-time jobs, or supporting families of their own.

We invite you to stand with us in this moment. Your donation can make the difference between a student staying in school or dropping out.
