SCJ faculty regularly conduct and disseminate research findings on issues of crime and justice. In many cases this research is funded through competitive grants at the local, state and federal levels as well as support provided by private foundations. Our work is aimed to not only contribute to a better understanding of crime and responses to crime, but also to shape policy and encourage the dissemination of best practices across substantive domains including policing, courts, and sentencing.
SCJ faculty and PhD students often collaborate in research projects, linking doctoral training with hands-on experience on data collection and analysis, dissemination of findings and other markers of scholarly work.
