Bio
Jay S. Albanese is a criminologist and professor in the Wilder School of Government & Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University. He served as Chief of the International Center at the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) from 2002-2006. NIJ is the research arm of the U.S. Department of Justice. Dr. Albanese has written and edited 15 books, 60 articles and book chapters, and has made keynote and invited presentations in 14 countries. Recent books include Transnational Crime and the 21st Century (Oxford University Press, 2011), and Professional Ethics in Criminal Justice: Being Ethical When No One is Looking (Prentice Hall, 3rd ed., 2012). He is past president and fellow of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, and is past president of the White Collar Crime Research Consortium.
