Bio

Matt is an Assistant Professor who completed his Ph.D. in Criminology & Criminal Justice at Arizona State University. His research has appeared in journals such as Criminology, Justice Quarterly, Journal of Criminal Justice, and Journal of Youth & Adolescence, and his work has been funded by a variety of federal and philanthropic partners including the National Institute of Justice, National Science Foundation, and Public Welfare Foundation. Matt has received a few awards for his teaching, mentorship, and community-engaged work, including the CLAS Excellence in Teaching Award, the Learning Community Coordinator of the Year Award, and the Award for Excellence in Diversity & Social Justice (Student Government Association at Saint Louis University). In 2022, he received the Early Career Excellence Award from the faculty of the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice at Arizona State.
